CHARACTERISTICS OF THE JOB

  • Job location:  ICRA – Catalan Institute for Water Research, Girona, Spain
  • Number of positions available: 1
  • Expected start: January 2019
  • Temporal Position. The position is for 2 months
  • Gross annual salary package: 15.000 €

 

JOB PURPOSE / PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The “Watintech project” (http://watintech.eu/) is looking for a technician to assist in pilot-scale experimentation that will test the dewatering of raw sewage by means of the forward osmosis process. This experimentation is already on-going but requires finalization and edition of a report on the accumulated results so far as the project is about to end.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and carry out experiments, solutions etc
  • Analyze and compile permeate flow data and contrast that to reverse salt flux
  • Analyze flow data in relation to fouling prevention strategies by the air scouring process
  • Generate final recommendations

 

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Experience: As this is a short contract requiring a very specific skill set, prior laboratory experience with forward osmosis processes entailing preparation and analysis of flow data taking into account fouling and draw solution is of paramount importance.
  • Knowledge: Detailed knowledged on the forward osmosis process.
  • Skills: Demonstrated laboratory skills related to forward osmosis.
