Sara Insa graduated in Chemistry in 2001 from the University of Girona (UdG). Through the grant from the University Teacher Training Program (FPU) granted by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, he completed his doctorate in Chemistry at the UdG within the science program: Chemistry and Physics of molecules and materials , biotechnology and health sciences, which ended in 2006. Between 2001 and 2007 she was hired temporarily, on three occasions, as an associate professor in the area of Analytical Chemistry at the UdG. As a result of the knowledge acquired throughout the doctoral thesis, in particular, taking into account the experience in the field of gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry, in 2006 he became part of J. Vigas, SA, company dedicated to the manufacture and marketing of corks where he developed tasks related to quality control. In November 2007, he began his career at the Catalan Water Research Institute (ICRA) as head of Scientific and Technical Services (SCT), a service platform designed to provide analytical and advisory support, both to projects center’s own, such as requests from external bodies. The tasks coordinated at ICRA have been multidisciplinary since it has participated both in setting up the laboratories, equipment, and human team, as well as in the development of methodologies for the physicochemical characterization of aqueous matrices, including the determination of emerging pollutants through the application of mass spectrometry.
