As droughts occur across Europe and new European water reclamation regulations are about to come into effect, EU countries are preparing for future scenarios. Even supposedly water-rich countries like Austria.
In this context, the Austrian Water and Waste Management Association (ÖWAV) organized in Vienna (February 21 and 22) the seminar entitled “Reuse of treated wastewater”. As expected, this seminar provided an opportunity to look towards countries with experience in water reuse. In this regard, among the guest speakers who presented international practical experiences was Dr. Wolfgang Gernjak from ICRA-CERCA . In his talk he explained practical cases from Murcia, Madrid and Catalonia. The talk was prepared with the help and contributions of the relevant Spanish administrations and industries (ESAMUR, Canal Isabel II, ACA, CACBGi, Veolia Water Technologies).
