As pressure on water supplies grows, members of the public and decision-makers look to engineers and scientists for solutions to their water crises. Over the past four decades, we have created an array of technologies that allow us to detect and remove contaminants from water. Advanced technologies have helped solve some of the world's water crises, but there is still room for improvement. This talk will provide insight into four distinct crises that society faces and the technological challenges associated with providing safe, affordable and reliable drinking water.\n\nBiographical Details<\/u>\n\nDavid Sedlak is the Plato Malozemoff Professor in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at UC Berkeley, Co-Director of the Berkeley Water Center and Deputy Director of the NSF engineering research center for Reinventing the Nation's Urban Water Infrastructure (ReNUWIt).
