    • Understanding the hydrological dynamics of both surface water and groundwater and the interactions between them, including associated physical processes in rivers basins (eg, sediment transport, dissolved loads)
    • Water resources availability and quality, with special emphasis on the effect of human pressures: overexploitation, pollution.
    • Effects of current changes in climate, land and society and water resources and its dynamics.
