Researcher Maite Pijuan participated in the IWA Nutrient Removal and Recovery (NRR) conference, held this year in Delft, the Netherlands, a leading international event in the field of resource recovery and the valorisation of residual streams. During the conference, the researcher presented an oral communication and a poster on the results obtained within the METPRO project (PID2022-136731OB-I00), funded through the Knowledge Generation Projects call of the Spanish State Research Agency. The project focuses on investigating new ways of producing single-cell proteins from methane as a sustainable alternative to conventional protein sources for animal feed.

Participation in the conference helped raise the international visibility of research carried out at ICRA, while also providing an opportunity to establish contacts and exchange knowledge with researchers and professionals from around the world working on the treatment and resource recovery of residual streams.
