Director.
Scientific researcher at ICRA in the research line of “Ecosystem services related to fresh water and solutions based on nature”, and head of the “Resources and ecosystems” area. He obtained his PhD at the University of Barcelona (2004) for a research on the influence of the riparian forest and the hydrology on the structure and functioning of a Mediterranean river.
His expertise lies in the ecology of temporary streams and ecosystem services. He has explored the influence of flow regimes and temperature on carbon metabolism and has characterized their temporal and spatial alterations. He has also studied the effects of pharmaceuticals in stream ecosystems. Currently, he integrates the different disciplines of the RIE area and supports political decision-making. Passionate about the science-policy interface, integrated management and nature-based solutions, he devotes efforts to bridging the gap between scientific knowledge and sustainable decision-making.

Born in Barcelona in 1970, graduated in Chemical Sciences, specializing in Chemical Engineering, from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 1993.
Process engineer at the Fine Chemistry Process Development Center (CDPQF) of the General Laboratory of Assays and Research (LGAI) of Catalonia from 1995 to 1999. Manager of the LGAI CDPQF from 2000 to 2005.
Director of the Industry Area of the Applus+ Certification Division from 2006 to 2007. IESE Managerial Development Program (PDD) in 2007.
On August 25, 2008, he was appointed Manager of ICRA.

She joined ICRA in October 2007, coming from the Vice Chancellor’s Office for Research at the University of Girona. With extensive experience and training in management within the public administration. She supports the Management and Administration of ICRA.
