Set investigadors de l’Institut Català de Recerca de l’Aigua (ICRA-CERCA) van tenir una presència significativa al 34è Congrés Anual Europeu de la Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC), celebrat recentment a Dublin, Irlanda. Durant aquest prestigiós esdeveniment, l’ICRA-CERCA va presentar tres comunicacions orals i sis pòsters, destacant els seus avanços en la recerca ambiental i la química de l’aigua.

Presentacions orals:

• Santiago Otaiza González va exposar sobre «Antibiotic Occurrence and Distribution in a Coastal Areas with Aquaculture Activity».
• Maria Eugenia Valdes va presentar els resultats sobre «Differential Distribution of Pharmaceutical Compounds in Water, Sediments and Biota of a full-scale Constructed Wetland».
• Lucas Alonso va abordar «The Journey of Organic Micropollutants from Water towards Soil and Crops in a Reclaimed Water Irrigation System».

Pòsters presentats:

• Meritxell Gros va presentar dos pòsters: «Characterization of scrubber water discharges from ships using advanced suspect and target screening strategies» i «Analysis of emerging contaminants in ship greywater through liquid chromatography and a wide scope target high resolution mass spectrometry screening method».
• Sara Rodriguez-Mozaz va discutir «Pharmaceuticals in a Soil-Plant System Irrigated with Reclaimed Water in the Mediterranean Area: Environmental and Human Health Risk Assessment».
• Nonito Ros Berja va explorar «Exploring the occurrence of emerging contaminants in a coastal environment: the Mar Menor lagoon – Campo de Cartagena aquifer case study (SE Spain)».
• Lucas Alonso va presentar «Uptake of Venlafaxine and its Metabolite O-Desmethyl-Venlafaxine in Lettuce under Hydroponic Conditions».
• Natalia Sáez Rosique va identificar «Identification of priority contaminants in groundwater for their protection and pollution prevention».

La participació de l’ICRA-CERCA en aquest congrés internacional no només demostra la qualitat de la seva recerca, sinó també el seu compromís amb la protecció del medi ambient i la salut humana. Aquestes investigacions ofereixen nous coneixements i solucions pràctiques per als reptes ambientals globals.
