Postdoctoral Researcher Advanced
Margot Sepp is a postdoctoral researcher at ICRA in the line of research “Biodiversity and functions of aquatic ecosystems”. She holds a PhD in Applied Biology from the Estonian University of Life Sciences (2019), with research on the organic matter of temperate lakes and the connections with the basin.
His current research focuses on how global climate change is altering ecosystem functions related to the carbon cycle (primary production, respiration, organic matter decomposition and greenhouse gas emissions) and the provision of ecosystem services in river networks that dry up. Specifically, it is using modeling to convert river network scale predictions to a European scale. His previous research had focused on dissolved organic matter and the nitrogen cycle in lakes.
