Summary

Alicia is a microbiologist, and currently her work at ICRA focuses on the study of bacteria that oxidize methane (methanotrophs). It aims to establish the optimal growth conditions for these bacteria, and thus control and optimize the production of exopolymeric substances (EPS) from methane. She is also interested in discovering the genes involved in the production of EPS by methanotrophs under stress conditions.
