Research Scientist
Xavier Garcia is a research scientist at ICRA in the line of research “Ecosystem services related to fresh water and solutions based on nature”. He received his doctorate in Experimental Sciences and Sustainability from the University of Girona (2012). He is also currently an associate professor at the University of Girona.
His research has focused on the sustainable management of water resources and ecosystems associated with fresh water. His main field of research is the modeling, assessment and mapping of water-related ecosystem services to support river conservation and restoration. He has also worked on the development of participatory approaches for the restoration of river spaces.
