Postdoctoral Researcher
Nikolaus Klamerth (ORCID: 0000-0001-7557-148X) holds a Masters in Analytical Chemistry from the Vienna University of Technology and obtained his PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Almeria, Spain. His doctoral thesis was about the development and application of a POA powered by sunlight for the degradation of emerging pollutants in wastewater treatment plant effluents. After his PhD, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Alberta, Canada, on the remediation of oil sands process water with advanced oxidation processes and the application of high-end analytical methods. In 2016 he moved to Germany and worked as a researcher/teacher at the TU-Bergakademie Freiberg, before moving to Spain. He is currently working on the analysis and elimination of Nitrosamines-precursors in water in the reclaimONEwater project. His research interests focus on water, water treatment, advanced oxidation processes and environmental pollutant analysis. He is a certified advanced scientific diver and has knowledge of hydrogeology and tracer techniques. He has published 27 articles and is co-author of 2 book chapters.
