Research Technician
David Primo is research Technician graduated in Biotechnology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) in 2019 and with an MSc in Environmental and Molecular Biology from the University of Roskilde (RUC) in 2022. He has participated in drug bioremediation projects with microalgae at the RUC’s Department of Environmental Science and Environment. Currently, he works as a technician in the project “Valorization of methane: biorefinery based on methanotrophs for the production of extracellular biopolymers (CH4-BIOPOL)” financed by the Next Generation funds of the European Union until December 2024. This project is based on obtaining extracellular polysaccharides (EPS) from methanotrophs, with different operating conditions, and their characterization. The initial design is a membrane bioreactor or “Hollow-fiber Membrane Bioreactor” (HfMBR), where the mixed cultures will grow, to test the feasibility of production on a laboratory scale.
