Predoctoral Researcher
Francisco Zafra after finishing his training as a chemist at the University of Murcia, he is currently completing his doctoral thesis at the ICRA. His research focuses on the study of the complete profile of dissolved organic matter (DOM) in water and how it changes when carrying out different disinfection treatments in water treatment plants, at the same time as evaluating its effect as a precursor in the formation of disinfection by-products (DBPs). Once a little more is understood about DOM and its reactivity with disinfectants, it is sought to be able to identify the best disinfection strategies for the specific characteristics of the water source. Join him in this experience to contribute to the advancement of water treatment and help ensure access to safe and clean water for all.
