The Darder Museum in Banyoles hosted the launch of “GLH2OPS – Discover the Water You Drink”, a science outreach initiative promoted by ICRA-CERCA that brought together dozens of participants eager to put their taste buds to the test.

The experience invites participants to try to distinguish between bottled water, tap water, jug-filtered water and reverse osmosis water. Beyond taste, the activity also provides relevant information about the origin of each type of water, the treatments it undergoes, its economic cost and its associated environmental impact.

Through an interactive and participatory format, attendees were able to reflect on the implications of the different options available when it comes to water consumption.

The activity is supported by a grant from the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation (FCRI), which funds the project with the aim of fostering scientific knowledge and promoting a more informed and environmentally aware public regarding the water they consume every day.

Over the coming weeks, the activity will be available at various museums and fairs across Catalonia.
