    The main objective of this research line is to study the presence of emerging contaminants (including microplastics) in the environment using advanced analytical methods to understand their origin, the processes that regulate their distribution, and their effects on ecosystems. The accumulation and transformation of (micro)contaminants in seafood and edible plants are also evaluated, as well as their potential impact on human health.
