The main objective of the conference was to present the results of the NOWELTIES research program as well as new achievements in the field of the development and application of new materials and inventive processes for wastewater treatment, covering four topics: advances in biological treatment of waste water, progress in Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOP), new materials and application of nanotechnology in the treatment of waste water and hybrid treatment of waste water. The conference combined keynote presentations by invited speakers with presentations by NOWELTIES fellows and other project participants. On May 13, the last face-to-face meeting of the project and a workshop “What happens after NOWELTIES?” were held, focusing on the scientific and business career of the program. Some of the presentations of the speakers invited to the final conference are available at following links: Alette Langenhoff, Wageningen University, the Netherlands
Biological treatment technologies for the removal of micropollutants
