On July 4, high school students took part in a visit to the Catalan Institute for Water Research (ICRA) within the framework of the 18th edition of the Jove Campus de Recerca program, organized by the University of Girona (UdG) (https://www.udg.edu/ca/secundaria/jcr).

Throughout the day, participants had the opportunity to discover first-hand the center’s unique and innovative facilities, such as the ion chromatography analysis equipment, the green walls, and the experimental streams. They also learned about ICRA’s main research lines and were able to interact with researchers to see how science is carried out both in the field and in the laboratory.

To complement the experience, students took part in a hands-on activity focused on the identification of different types of water, allowing them to apply scientific knowledge in an engaging and interactive way.

These initiatives help bring science closer to young people, spark scientific vocations, and provide them with a broad view of different research areas, supporting them in making decisions about their academic and professional future.
