The articles address major groundwater challenges, such as quality and quantity issues. They also evaluate the practical aspects, to offer possible solutions with state-of-the-art methodologies. Damià Barceló , director of ICRA, assures that the compilation “will be of help to environmental scientists, especially hydrologists, as well as newcomers, doctoral students and those senior researchers who consider groundwater as one of the world’s resources that needs protection”.
At the same time, Damià Barceló has announced a special virtual issue on the same topic , also on the occasion of World Water Day 2022. This will allow authors who have not had the opportunity to participate in this collection to publish their articles. Those who have already published can also apply. The period for the presentation of works will be open from March 20 to October 31, 2022.
