The Catalan Institute for Water Research (ICRA) has launched a training program aimed at promoting the use of Catalan as a working language and supporting the integration of newly arrived professionals. This project addresses the need to provide linguistic and cultural support to people coming from international backgrounds or outside Catalonia, as in the past five years, 40 % of the staff joining the center were non-Catalan speakers.
The main goal of the program is to ensure that newcomers can communicate confidently in Catalan, both professionally and in everyday life, while fostering an inclusive environment that respects Catalan language and culture. It also aligns with the objectives of the Catalan Language Strengthening Plan in the academic and scientific context.
