The kick-off of the project NeWater (Natural based and low Energy consumption unconventional solutions for the management of WATER sources, PCI2024-153445, MCIU/AEI/10.13039/501100011033/EU) of the WATER4ALL 2022 call was held online on the 28th of June.
The call focused on the management of water resources: resilience, adaptation and mitigation to hydroclimatic extreme events and management tools. NEWater will develop innovative and efficient water treatment systems based on biological, physical and natural hybrid solutions (NBS), and digital technologies for monitoring, control and decision support.
ICRA-CERCA will work on decentralised NBS reclamation of greywater (kitchen and sink) for edible plant production by means of a vertical wall. The ICRA-CERCA researchers Gianluigi Buttiglieri, Sara Rodriguez-Mozaz, and Meritxell Gros (PI of the project for ICRA) participated to the meeting.
