The representative of the Republican Left in the Climate Action Commission of the Parliament, Anna Torrentà, accompanied by the deputy in the Parliament Jaume Butinyà and the senator Josep Maria Reniu, visited the headquarters of the Catalan Water Research Institute this Tuesday (ICRA-CERCA) located in Girona.
The republican delegation met with the center’s deputy director, Sergi Sabater, as well as several researchers attached to the ICRA, with whom they were able to discuss the serious climate crisis, the drought and water management.
The researchers who took part in this visit were Oriol Gutiérrez, research scientist KTT; Maite Pijuan, Head of Technology and Evaluation Area; Vicenç Acuña, head of the Resources and Ecosystems Area; and Mira Petrovic, responsible for the Water Quality and Safety Area
Afterwards, they visited the center’s facilities where they were able to see first-hand some of the experiments and tests that are carried out in relation to the analysis of waste water or the innovation of purification filters, among others.
