• Gross Annual Salary package: 24.000€ – 40.000€

 

*  The start of the contract is subject to the calendar determined by the validation of “Actuacions de Recerca i Innovació Transformativa” (ARiT) of the Regions del Coneixement project, to the availability of the economic funds and to the effective start of the Project

 

 

OFFER DESCRIPTION

ICRA, within the framework of the Research & Transfer Support Services, requires the incorporation of a technical profile specialized in hydrology and modelling, in order to initially participate in the action of the Regions del Coneixement project, as well as, subsequently, in other projects that contain tasks of this type.

Specifically, a technical specialist in the development and application of hydrological, hydraulic or ecohydrological models and in coding of modelling applications in the field of hydrology is required.

 

 

 

KEY DUTIES

The contracted person will develop and apply hydrological and, where appropriate, hydraulic or ecohydrological models; prepare input data and carry out calibration, validation, sensitivity and uncertainty analysis processes and scientific interpretation of the results.

The research specialist thecnician will program and automate data processing, integration, analysis and visualization processes, using Python, R, geographic information systems, databases and other specialized scientific programs. In the same way, she/he will be able to program modeling applications in the field of hydrology, without being limited to the use of models such as SWAT+, which will be central to the development of her/his activity.

 

Depending on the experience and the evolution of the position, the selected candidate may assume the scientific and technical leadership of tasks, work packages or projects, including their planning, the coordination of collaborators, the monitoring of milestones and deliveries, the dialogue with contracting entities or collaborators and the preparation of new research, innovation and transfer proposals in the field of hydrology.

 

 

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Must have – Required

Research Field or Field of knowledge:

Hydrology, environmental modelling

Qualifications and Education Level:

University degree, bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in Computer Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, Environmental Sciences, Biology, or related disciplines.

Skills:

Solid knowledge of hydrology and numerical modelling, ability to configure, calibrate, validate and interpret hydrological models; programming and data analysis with Phyton, R, or equivalent tools.

Required Languages:

Catalan, Spanish, English with a sufficient level to work and write scientific and technical documentation.

Required Experience:

Minimum experience of 2 years in research or applied projects related to hydrology, modelling, in research centres, universities, administrations, companies or specialised consultancies.

 

 

Desirable

Experience with SWAT+, HEC-RAS or equivalent models, knowledge of calibration techniques, sensitivity and uncertainty, model coding.

Interest in pursuing a PhD.

Selection process:

In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process.
