Develop a model to estimate crop suitability under different future climate projections.

The Agrifuturs project aims to predict the viability of crops currently cultivated in Catalonia by considering future climate scenarios. Based on an agroclimatic model that determines crop viability and the calculation of irrigation requirements, maps are generated for the 156 crops currently grown in Catalonia. For each crop, a viability map is produced indicating the areas where the crop is viable, viable with irrigation, or not viable, as well as a map showing the crop’s irrigation requirements. Each set of maps is developed for the current scenario and for the RCP 4.5 and RCP 8.5 scenarios for the year 2050.
