OFFER DESCRIPTION
ICRA is seeking to hire a research services technician to support the NaturImpAct project, with a background in water resources, environmental sciences or related fields, and knowledge of nature-based solutions and sustainable water management. The contract is part of project FCT-25-23433 (NaturImpact), funded by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT), under the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.
The selected candidate will support the technical follow-up of the project, including data collection with local stakeholders, participate in transfer activities, and assist in drafting technical reports and communication materials. Additionally, the candidate will support project coordination, communication with public administrations, and project reporting.
Finally they will contribute to the monitoring of green wall systems and the analysis of environmental, operational and water quality data.
Experience in supporting environmental projects, strong analytical and writing skills, teamwork, and proficiency in Catalan, Spanish and English are required.
Knowledge of hydroponic systems, statistical tools and participatory processes will be considered an asset.
KEY DUTIES
The tasks that the contracted predoctoral researcher will perform include:
i) providing transversal support to the implementation of the project, including the collection, organisation and analysis of technical, environmental and socio-economic data, as well as to the development of indicators;
ii) collaborating in activities with involved stakeholders, including surveys, workshops and transfer actions with public administrations and local communities;
iii) the monitoring and follow-up of pilot systems;
iv) drafting protocols, technical reports and communication materials;
v) a proportion of time will be devoted to transversal tasks such as coordination, project follow-up and the shared maintenance of common spaces and resources, including joint laboratory maintenance.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Must have – Required
Research Field or Field of knowledge:
Water science and technology, environmental engineering, or chemical engineering.
Qualifications and Education Level:
Minimum qualification Intermediate Vocacional Training Certificate or equivalent.
Preferred and considered an asset: Bachelor’s Degree or University Diploma, and a Master’s Degree in water science and technology, Environmental or agronòmic sciences or related fields
Skills:
Experience in environmental technologies, water resources, landscaping or related fields.
Knowledge of nature-based solutions, water management and sustainability.
Ability to draft technical reports and systematise information. Autonomy, organisational skills, ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
A driving licence.
Required Languages:
English, Catalan and Spanish
Required Experience:
Experience in technical support for environmental or applied research projects related to water management and/or green spaces.
Experience in data collection and analysis, as well as in drafting technical reports and documents.
Experience working with organisations, public administrations or local stakeholders.
Experience in participatory processes, consultations, workshops or transfer activities will be valued.
Desirable
The following previous research skills and experiences will be taken into account in the selection process:
i) knowledge of nature-based solutions applied to urban environments and sustainable water management, as well as basic knowledge or experience in hydroponic systems;
ii) knowledge of statistical and geospatial tools

Selection process:
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process.
