The Chemical Analysis Unit (UAQ) of the Scientific and Technical Services (STS) at the Catalan Institute for Water Research (ICRA) was awarded ISO 9001:2015 certification on 26 August 2026, in recognition of its commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and excellence in the delivery of analytical services.

The scope of the ISO 9001:2015 certification, issued by SGS INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATION SERVICES IBÉRICA, S.A. (Unipersonal), covers the physicochemical characterization services for aqueous matrices included in the UAQ’s analytical services catalogue.

This achievement is the result of recognizing the importance of implementing a structured, documented, and traceable operational model, enabling the consolidation of processes and the provision of reliable analytical services in support of research and knowledge transfer projects.

This certification is aligned with ICRA’s strategic objectives, highlighting the collective effort of the UAQ team. It also represents the first step in a broader commitment to continuously improve all units within the Scientific and Technical Services and to progressively implement new quality standards.
