Research within the Hydrological Processes and Water Resources line focuses on water availability—or rather, water scarcity—under current conditions and future climate scenarios, taking into account both supply needs and those of ecosystems. The studies address the availability and quality of groundwater resources. From a qualitative perspective, they consider specific cases of nitrate pollution and contamination by emerging pollutants from various sources, with the aim of understanding subsurface transport processes and providing criteria for pollution mitigation and the preservation of water quality.
