This research line analyses the ecology of the aquatic resistome in natural and urban waters, studying the presence and dissemination of antibiotic-resistant bacteria and the factors that influence it. Using techniques such as genomics, metagenomics, and wastewater-based epidemiology, it explores the role of water as a reservoir of resistance genes. The aim is to understand the impact of ecological and anthropogenic stressors on antibiotic resistance and to contribute to its control following the One Health approach.
