On 20 May 2026, Gianluigi Buttiglieri participated as an invited speaker in the workshop “Nature-Based Solutions (NBSs) for wastewater treatment and urban water management”, held at Barcelona Zoo within the framework of the 6th LIFE4ZOO project meeting.

His contribution, entitled “Green walls for greywater treatment and reuse: from treatment performance to nature-based co-benefits”, focused on the potential of green walls for greywater treatment and reuse. This participation is framed within the GGsolutions project (PID2024-161596OB-C21), funded by MICIU, AEI (MICIU/AEI/10.13039/501100011033) and FEDER (EU), and dedicated to the study and application of nature-based solutions in water management.

The workshop was moderated by Ignasi Rodriguez-Roda and Antonina Torrens and included the participation of project partners and members of the Advisory Group. The session also featured contributions from speakers from the University of Girona, WETCON and CSIC, fostering the exchange of experiences on natural technologies for sustainable water management in urban environments and high-visitor facilities.
