On 28 September, the online kick-off meeting of the RESOLVER project, “Advancing nature-based action for circular resource recovery in rural and peri-urban communities across Europe and Latin America”, was held. The project is coordinated by ICRA and brings together partners from Europe and Latin America: UNALM, UFSC, ANRI, UFZ and INTEC.
The ICRA team involved in the project includes Josep Pueyo, Joaquim Comas, Èric Herran, Gianluigi Buttiglieri and Esther Mendoza.
The project aims to develop new knowledge, tools and strategies to facilitate the implementation and long-term maintenance of nature-based solutions (NBS) and circular bioeconomy strategies for water, wastewater and sludge management, as well as resource recovery in small communities in rural and peri-urban areas.
During the meeting, the project’s objectives, indicators and work packages were presented, including the development of tools for NBS planning and selection, the validation of 12 pilot projects, and the design of business models to support their long-term implementation.
Within the project, ICRA will lead the update of the Nat4Wat tool to adapt it to the EU–Latin America context, participate in two demonstration pilot projects, and contribute to various technical, validation and knowledge-transfer activities throughout the project.
