On May 15th, ICRA hosted a new follow-up meeting for the DECIDEIX project in Girona. The meeting featured the participation of all consortium members: EURECAT, as project coordinator, the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Cetaqua, Agbar, the Catalan Water Partnership (CWP), and ICRA itself.

The main objective of the DECIDEIX project is to develop tools and criteria to facilitate the safe reuse of reclaimed water for both direct and indirect potable uses through a Decision Support System (DSS / SAD). During the session, administrative and financial aspects of the project were reviewed, and the current status of the various work packages was presented.

A significant part of the meeting focused on Work Package 1 (WP1), which addresses the identification of emerging contaminants to be integrated into the DSS and the definition of their protective threshold values. In this regard, partners detailed the ongoing literature review aimed at gathering data on the most effective treatment technologies for removing these compounds.

Furthermore, updates were shared on the expansion of the SUGGEREIX system and the upcoming construction of the direct potable reuse pilot plant at the Gavà – Viladecans WWTP (EDAR). The event, which concluded with a discussion and closing remarks session, also included blocks dedicated to communication, results transfer, and coordination with the Catalan Water Agency (ACA), the project’s funding body.
