The director of ICRA, Damià Barceló , has been one of the guest speakers at the ninth edition of the International Conference on Water Resources and Arid Environments (ICWRAE, International Conference on Water Resources and Arid Environments ), held from March 29 to 31 . An international scientific conference that takes place every two years and that, on this occasion due to COVID-19, has been held in a completely virtual format.
The guest speakers have been the winners of the different editions of the Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water (PSIPW), from the first prize in 2004 to the ninth in 2020. Damià Barceló, as winner of the PSIPW in the Water Management and Protection category, has focused his intervention on microplastic pollution in mixed surface and treated wastewater from Saudi Arabia.
The meeting has been organized by King Saud University (KSU), the Prince Sultan Institute for Environmental, Water and Desert Research, the Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water (PSIPW) and the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture of Saudi Arabia.
