The ICRA team, composed of Diana Alvarez, Esther Mendoza, Andrea Peris, and Maria Pau Garcia-Moll, organized a visit for a group of 4th-year ESO students (secondary education) from the Cor de Maria-Sant Josep school in Sant Feliu de Guíxols.

The session, framed within the development of the students’ final research project, consisted of several talks on microplastics and plastic additives in the context of water reuse, as well as the use of green walls as a nature-based solution for water treatment. These topics are linked to the GGsolutions (PID2024-161596OB-C21; MICIU/AEI/10.13039/501100011033/ FEDER, EU) and NEWater (PCI2024-153445, MICIU/AEI/10.13039/501100011033/EU) projects.

In addition, the students took a guided tour of ICRA’s green wall, visited the institute’s laboratories, and learned about some of the methods used for micro-pollutant analysis.
