The intoDBP project has further consolidated its contribution to Europe’s ambition of achieving a pollution-free water future during the ZeroPollution4Water Cluster (ZP4WC) Annual Event, held within the framework of Water Knowledge Europe 2025 – Winter Edition in Brussels. This year’s session, entitled “Towards a Water Pollution-Free Europe: Building Synergies, Expanding Collaboration, and Strengthening the Cluster’s Impact,” brought together Horizon Europe projects committed to addressing water pollution through research, innovation, and cooperation.

As an active member of the ZeroPollution4Water Cluster, intoDBP directly supports key European Union priorities outlined in the European Green Deal, the EU Zero Pollution Action Plan, and the EU Water Resilience Strategy. The Cluster brings together 15 EU-funded projects covering the full spectrum of water pollution challenges, including prevention, detection, monitoring, treatment, modelling, and governance. This integrated approach provides a strong foundation for evidence-based policymaking and the effective implementation of the Water Framework Directive.

Throughout the event, Wolfgang Gernjak, Project Coordinator of intoDBP and ICRA researcher, actively represented the project in various sessions and activities. He presented the project’s latest progress through scientific poster presentations, highlighting innovative strategies developed within intoDBP to manage and reduce disinfection by-products (DBPs) in drinking water systems. The posters showcased key advances in monitoring approaches, risk assessment methodologies, and the development of safer and more efficient treatment solutions.

Through its participation in the ZeroPollution4Water Cluster, intoDBP reaffirms its commitment to science-driven innovation and European collaboration, contributing to the development of a more resilient, efficient, and pollution-free water future for Europe.
