Nikoletta Tsiarta has been awarded the Gold Medal (1st Prize) in the Engineering/Materials Science category at INOVA 2025 for her work “Dual-Layer CeO₂ + CeTiOx Modified Ceramic Membranes for Enhanced Pharmaceutical Degradation in a Hybrid Ozonation–Membrane Filtration Reactor.”
The award acknowledges the innovative reactor developed during her PhD research, supervised by Prof. Wolfgang Gernjak (ICRA) and Prof. Lidija Ćurković (FSB). Prof. Ćurković represented Ms. Tsiarta at the ceremony and proudly accepted the award on her behalf.
Ms. Tsiarta expressed her gratitude to her supervisors and to the organizers of INOVA 2025 for providing a platform that highlights innovation and bridges scientific research with societal needs.
INOVA 2025 – the 49th International Invention Show is the world’s second-oldest and Europe’s second-largest invention fair. The event took place from September 25–28, 2025, in Zagreb, Croatia.
