On April 21st, Girona hosted this key meeting, which marks the transition of the European Project intoDBP into its final phase. The main objective of the day was to design the strategy to ensure that all knowledge generated throughout the research reaches the stakeholders and organizations involved in water management as effectively as possible.
Discussions focused on core areas such as climate change impacts on water resources, the development of forecasting tools, dissolved organic matter characterization (DOM fingerprinting), real-time monitoring, and innovative treatment solutions to reduce the formation of disinfection by-products (DBPs). The debate highlighted the importance of translating all this scientific research into actionable recommendations and practical guidelines for a real and safe management of drinking water.
