The Catalan Association of Research Institutions (ACER), patron of the CERCA Institution, is entering a new stage with a renewed Board of Directors. Dr. Josep Lladós, Director of the Computer Vision Center (CVC) and Professor at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, succeeds Josep Samitier, Director of IBEC, as ACER President for the next four years.
The new Board, approved on October 6 during an Extraordinary General Assembly, brings together professionals of recognized prestige and experience. Along with Vicenç Acuña, Director of the Catalan Institute for Water Research (ICRA), the new members include Maria Lois (CRAG), Francesc Posas (IRB Barcelona), Joan Comella (IRSJD), and Begoña Benito (VHIR). Together, they represent the diversity and excellence of ACER’s 43 member centers, spanning from social sciences to cutting-edge technologies.
