During the third week of June, researcher Maite Pijuan visited the laboratories of Professor Yan Zhou, a researcher at the Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute (NEWRI) of Nanyang Technological University (NTU), one of the world’s leading centres for research into sustainable water treatment and management. During the visit, the latest progress of ongoing research projects at both ICRA and NEWRI was shared, focusing on biological wastewater treatment processes and resource recovery.

The visit coincided with the annual meeting of the Editorial Board of Water Research, one of the leading scientific journals in the field of water research. As the journal’s Executive Editor, Maite Pijuan took part in the meeting, which brought together editors from around the world to discuss strategic aspects related to the journal’s development, emerging research trends and current challenges in scientific communication.

The stay in Singapore contributed both to strengthening ICRA’s international profile and to expanding opportunities for collaboration with leading institutions worldwide in the fields of water and the environment.
