Webinar series: Innovation for SDGs: inspirational tools towards sustainability challenges.

A specific session dedicated to Water, Sustainable Cities and Communities and Climate Action

From the Sectorial Campuses , and with the collaboration of the Global University Network for Innovation , the University of Girona has organized the cycle dedicated to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals “Innovation for SDGs: inspirational tools towards sustainability challenges” . The conferences will take place between March 15 and 25 in virtual format, and we would like to have your participation.

For the University of Girona, sustainability is a primary challenge and one of its main values. With this cycle of conferences, we count on the participation of renowned local and international experts who will reflect on the need to establish a dialogue between science and society to achieve the SDGs in 2030.

The cycle consists of a total of eight sessions, the first three of a more transversal and introductory nature and five focused on more specific thematic areas such as social inequality in the field of health, water management in the urban environment, regenerative tourism as a model of respect socio-environmental, the conservation of nature through the use of robotics and the improvement of sustainability in food production.

On March 23, a specific session has been scheduled from the Water campus and the Natural and Cultural Heritage campus: Wise Water Management in Cities from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. In this session, we will focus on how to improve water management in cities, to make them more sustainable and resilient.

The session will feature an initial presentation by Corinne Trommsdorff , CEO of the Water Cities organization, and two examples of good practices by Reginna Gnirss, R&D director of Berliner Wassertriebe and Joana Castellar , researcher of the ICRA .

The session will be moderated by Joaquim Comas , professor at the University of Girona and ICRA researcher.
