Jordi Solé , Member of the European Parliament and Secretary of International Policy of Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya, visited the ICRA last June 4, as part of the program of visits he is making to the Catalan research system, with the aim of having an overview general about the activities and research carried out at ICRA. Solé emphasized the Institute’s role as a reference institution in the Mediterranean in the study of the water cycle.
The director of ICRA, Damià Barceló , and his deputy director, Sergi Sabater , received Jordi Solé and had the opportunity to talk with him about European funding, specifically the Horizon Europe funds, as well as the Parliament’s resolution European on the European Research Area. Solé also presented his activity to the European Parliament and as a member of the ITRE Commission, responsible for legislating on several of the most important political areas of the European Union, such as industry, research and innovation, energy and application of new technologies.
The meeting ended with a visit to the room of experimental rivers, located in the basement of the center, and to the Laboratory L06 Pilot Plants.
