On 5 November, the II Technical Conference of the ATL Chair on Drinking Water “Reservoirs: Reserve and/or Defense?” was held at the Casa de Convalescència (UAB), within the modernist Hospital de Sant Pau complex. The event brought together more than 85 water sector professionals to discuss reservoir management from a technical, environmental, and strategic perspective.
ICRA participated through Professor Sergi Sabater (ICRA–UdG), who moderated the first session of the conference. During this session, experts from the Catalan Water Agency, the Confederación Hidrográfica del Tajo, and the Canal de Isabel II addressed key issues related to dam safety and the regulation of water resources.
Subsequent sessions focused on management under drought conditions, limnology as a support tool, and new technologies applied to reservoir management, including satellite analysis, artificial intelligence, and early warning systems.
The conference concluded with a call to strengthen innovation, collaboration, and technical knowledge to meet the growing challenges in water management.
