CHARACTERISTICS OF THE JOB

  • Location: ICRA – Catalan Water Research Institute Foundation, Girona (Spain)
  • Number of positions available: 1
  • Expected start: June 2025
  • Temporary Position. The position is for a maximum of 6 months.
  • Annual Gross Salary: From €20,000 to €25,693 depending on experience and qualifications

 

OFFER DESCRIPTION

ICRA executes and participates several research projects funded by the European Commission among which Dr. Wolfgang Gernjak coordinates ICRA’s involvement in the projects intoDBP (HE, coordinator), iWAYS (H2020, partner) and RECREATE (HE, partner). More information on these projects can be found on the various project websites.

 

Due to an exceptional situation, additional staff is required temporarily to support Dr Gernjak in his Research Line, Line number 9, mainly in a diversity of tasks related to these three projects. These include specifically:

1) intoDBP: support to organize and document project meetings.

2) iWAYS: support the operation of the demo case facilities at Tubacex (dissolved air flotation and membrane distillation), specifically the experimental planning and data analysis;

3) RECREATE: support the edition of deliverable 1.1, which summarizes climate variable trends for several locations in Europe, with data analysis of existing data.

 

We are looking for a research technician that is familiar with the operation of European projects, data analysis, edition of technical reports and specifically water treatment technologies such as coagulation/ flotation and membrane distillation.

 

 

KEY DUTIES

1) Organize and document technical meetings.

2) Analyze and visualize data.

3) Evaluate operation of pilots.

4) Assist with the edition of technical reports.

 

 

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Must have – Required

Research Field or Field of knowledge:

Water treatment technology.

Qualifications and Education Level:

Tertiary education (master or equivalent), related to water treatment.

Skills:

Demonstrated skills in data analysis and editing scientific publications

Required Experience:

Previous work experience is not necessary, although it may be considered

 

 

Desirable

Professional experience in prior appointments in European Union projects.

Demonstrated track record of data analysis, exploiting and disseminating research results (e.g. editing scientific publications, technical reports).

Experience with industrial water treatment, specifically coagulation/flotation and/ or membrane distillation.

Selection process:

In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process.
